We have made a Civitas Academy YouTube Channel which we will be uploading videos too very soon!

Year 4 Autumn 1 Curriculum Overview

PE Days

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. From Wednesday 25th September, Year 4 will start their swimming lessons so please remember your costume and a towel.

Reading & Times Tables

In Year 4 the children will continue using the Accelerated Reader programme. Many books are on this programme- so if they are reading a separate book at home they can search for it on the website and see if there is a comprehension quiz.

Times tables knowledge is invaluable and feeds into many areas of the maths curriculum. At the end of Year 4, your child will complete a national multiplication test. We will continue preparing your child for this but please help them with any time tables they are struggling with. They also need to be able to recall the time tables facts quickly as well as accurately.

Registration & Dismissal

It is expected that all children arrive between 8:40am – 8:50am and that they line up in register order with their class when the bell goes at 8:50am. Please send your child up to the top playground where they will line up with their teacher. If you need to pass on a message, please communicate with the teacher at the bottom of the stairs.

Your child’s class will be dismissed at 3:20 from the double doors near Year 1. Please allow plenty of space around the door and teacher when collecting your child. If your child is being collected by another family member or friend please inform the office.

Questions

If you have a question or concern about your child please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s teacher.
