Pupil Premium & Sports Premium

Pupil Premium Strategy

The Pupil Premium is additional money given to schools to enable them to support pupils, who may be disadvantaged, to raise their educational attainment.  It is available to schools to support pupils eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and those who are Looked After or in Care (LAC).

We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups; this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed.

We recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.

Sports Premium Grant

This funding has been given directly to schools to spend on improving the quality of PE and school sport provision.

To highlight Civitas Academy’s commitment to P.E. and School Sport, a full time P.E. specialist teacher and two P.E. specialist teacher assistants have been employed. This P.E. department deliver high quality lessons which are well organised and where the children always have their own equipment to use for the duration of the lesson. The children develop a healthy competitive attitude both within a team and also as an individual. The aim is for all children to feel inspired by physical activity so that they will want to continue physical activity after they leave Civitas Academy. Through educating the children on the benefits of physical activity, they will be encouraged to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
